Amy Celeste Weber
I started private art classes at the age of 11 from local professional artist in the quiet rural town in east central Kansas where I was born and raised. I spent a year studying art at the University of Kansas then, after a transfer to play softball, graduated from Emporia State University in 1991 with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Painting and a minor in Commercial Arts. That same year I moved to Texas to start my "life" and, unfortunately, placed my art career on the back burner. For the past 20 years, I rarely created art. I sold a piece or two privately. Kind of disappointing considering I used to paint nearly every day into the wee hours of the night, but when you are in college you've got that kind of time. Recently, I decided to make art a priority. I joined RAL at the beginning of 2010 and started drawing again. Now I am working with acrylics. In general, I'm doing all I can, with what I've got, from where I'm at, to live the life of my dreams. I hope you appreciate my imagery and enjoy my journey and evolution as an artist. Laura Antony
Laura Antony is a Rockwall area artist who has been painting for over twenty years. She has studied art in many different mediums at Northeast Louisiana University, Texas A&M Commerce, within the Dallas County Community College District, and has trained with several area Master Painters. She has traveled to Italy twice to study the art of the Italian masters, and has fine-tuned her skills in by attending workshops by Gregg Kreutz, David Leffel, and Jean Chambers. Laura is an Associate Member of the Oil Painters of America and a member of the Rockwall Art League. She is represented by Wylie Art Gallery in Wylie, Texas, Prellop Fine Art Gallery in Salado, Texas and L.A. Thompson Fine Art Gallery in Clifton, Texas. Laura retired from a seven year position as Art Instructor at Heritage Christian Academy in 2004 to meet the growing demands of her own career as an artist. She juggles a happy marriage, three nearly-grown children, and church activities with her time in the studio. Although she is technically experienced in many art mediums, she has chosen (for now) to focus on her first love, oil painting the still life in the tradition of the Old Masters. She continues to explore all the fascinating possibilities that the play of light and color can create. Contact: www.lauraantonyart.com -
